On Monday, as part of Prof. Vogelsang’s Requirements Engineering course, we were pleased to welcome Marijke Brommann, Consultant at Netlight, as a guest speaker. In her talk “RE in the wild,” she shared vivid experiences from real projects. One message was particularly striking: “Requirements Engineering is part of almost all activities in tech – even when it’s not explicitly called that.” A strong reminder of how deeply RE is embedded in everyday project work—and how important it is to recognize these activities and practice them consciously.

On Thursday, the second guest lecture followed: Holger R. Müller, Managing Director at  Bechtle, spoke in Prof. Davi’s Application Management course about what matters in DevOps in practice. He made clear that stable, secure, and cost-efficient operations of mission-critical applications and core business systems start with a well-designed testing and deployment strategy.
