CTF-Meetup

In cooperation with the Chaospott, a hacker space in Essen, the Chair for Systems Security has instantiated a regular CTF meetup. In this informal meeting, people can chat about CTFs and related topics of IT security.

In a CTF, software with weaknesses is provided. These weaknesses have to be exploited in order to find flags, which proove that one has successfully intruded the system. CTF competitions offer a possibility to learn and apply knowledge about IT security. The challenges have a large variety and often have realistic background. Topics are web security, binary exploitation, reverse-engineering, it forensics and cryptography. The meetup takes place on thursday every two weeks. More information, dates and contact adresses can be found in the wiki of the Chaospott.
