Christian Niesler develops in his Master Thesis a Framework for the Hotpatching of embedded realtime applications. This frameworks allows the patching without influencing the actual behavior of the patched devices, thus making it applicable for devices with hard real-time constraints. This enables timely patching of vulnerabilities without rebooting the system.
